Deposit Policy

A deposit of 50% of the room rate is required for the New Year's retreat in Maya Tulum, Mexico. Balances are due 90 days prior to the start date of the retreat. Spaces not paid for in full 61 days prior to start date of retreat will automatically become available to the waiting list.

Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy is: 50% of the room rate withheld after 60 days prior to start date of retreat.

Shuttle Service

Maya Tulum is a two hour ride from the airport. Shuttle fees are included in all retreat rates.

What To Bring

• Current Passport strongly recommended (driver’s license & birth certificate as ID may be acceptable but not guaranteed) US citizens do not need a visa, but non- US citizens may need one. Please contact your airline or passport office.
  
• $300-$500 per person spending money for spa treatments, tours, taxis, shopping, bar drinks, meals, and tips.
  
• Beachwear, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug repellent, flashlight, alarm clock, camera and beach towel.
  
• Sturdy shoes for hiking the ruins. Avid snorkelers might want to bring wet shoes.
  
• A light jacket and pants will be welcomed as the nights along the ocean can sometimes be cool between November and March.
  
• Snorkel equipment or rent locally for approximately
  $6 - $8 per day.
  
• Specialty teas, sweeteners, etc.
  
• Your cellular phone may function in Mexico. This service must be arranged in advance with your cell service provider.

General Information

Maya Tulum’s plumbing is very sensitive, so toilet paper, feminine products, cigarettes or any other non-organic material should not be thrown into the toilets. Wastebaskets are located beside the toilets for that purpose.

Two guest phones are available at the front desk for outgoing calls. Phone calls to the U.S. will cost $.50 a minute. Do NOT pre-purchase telephone cards as they will not function at the hotel.

Each room is equipped with a safe.

The servicing airport is Cancun. The U.S. office can book your flight at wholesale rates. Call in advance to ensure the best rates.

Maya Tulum is located 81 miles south of Cancun, which is approximately 1-½ hours traveling time. For ground transportation from Cancun to Maya Tulum please e-mail reservations@mayatulum.com or contact our U.S. office.

Rental car arrangements should be made in advance for best rates. However, rental cars can be arranged upon arrival at Maya Tulum. Directions to the hotel may be obtained from the US office prior to arrival or downloaded from our website, www.mayatulum.com.

Currency: The official currency is pesos. However, dollars or euros in traveler’s checks or cash are accepted—change will be given in pesos. Banks offer the best exchange rates. There are three ATM machines in the town of Tulum (3.5 miles away) and one bank. Changing currency at the airport is not recommended due to the low exchange rate.

Credit cards are accepted at Maya Tulum, although, they may only be processed Monday – Thursday. A 2% surcharge will be added to American Express charges.
